I was at the pet store today and I saw these semi-circle bowls that people hang on their wall and put fish like a betta in...there was no place for a heater or a filter or anything really...but then I looked on e-bay and found one that allowed space in the back for such...I would like to get a couple of these for around my room however before I did I was wondering what do other people think of these hanging fish bowls for the wall? Does anyone have an opinion on them or any experience with them...even if I decide not to get one for a fish I read that you can also use them for a planter which interests me very much...I have been looking into getting a few house plants as well...

iv had those be 4 and could not keep any fish alive thay all die
iv had meny fish b4 and no prob but those bols seames to kill the fish
and thay are verry easy to ferget about
best if you use it 4 plants but no dranige ao the plants may dround or rot if you over watter

Having plants would be better in the bowls rather than fish.

You don't mention what size the bowls are, but I'd allow at least a gallon of water for a betta. At 8.3 lbs, that would be a good bit of weight, you you'd have to make sure that the hook holding it was into a stud in the wall, or you could be looking at a disaster.
In order to have a heater, you'd have cords running up the wall - that wouldn't look so good. I'd also be very careful about placement - not to near any heating or air conditioning ducts that would make the temperature in the bowl fluctuate.
Seems to me they would be more of a problem than they would be worth for keeping a fish in these. For a plant, they might be okay, but if they are meant to hold water, you'd have to be careful not to overwater any plants in them or you'll have rotting roots.
I'd definitely approve if you decided to use them for plants.
However find out first if they are going to be a hassle to bring down.
Using them for plants will be alright but take note that water containers are potential mosquito breeding grounds if you live in warm climates.
Putting fish in there will be interesting but they will not be in the interest of the fish. You may even forget to feed or clean them once they become part of the wall fixture.
Why not fill them up with interesting seeds, stones or anything else you can collect and replace on a regular basis. I'd even get twigs or even cut flowers. That's an easy way to keep the room looking interesting yet allowing you a lot of flexibility.
(And most importantly, no animals get hurt.)

they're advertising fish as decor, not living things.
i really wouldn't advise these to keep living creatures in
it would be hard to keep temp stable, and as copperhead said, in order to have a heater you'd have to run a wire to the tank. if the tank was without a heater and on an exterior wall, it would get very cold, especially in the winter! they also look hard to clean and fragile.
that and there's no way i would trust a single nail (as that's how i've seen most designed) to hold up a living creature in a glass bowl full of water on a wall.
these things are just a fad and a waste of money. if you want to keep fish, buy a real tank.
