How do i breed the flower horn cichlids fish i,v tried separating the male but the female eats the eggs?

Cichlids are great parents. By taking away the male you stress the female and she eats the eggs. If this is a new breeding pair, they will sometimes eat the first couple batches of eggs due to problems with the eggs(fungus, stress, disease). Dont worry, they will lay more. Since cichlids are such good parents when the fry hatch, I would keep the fry with the parents until the fry are free swimming and eating on their own. This saves you the hassle of trying to feed the small fry and will stress the parents less if you leave them in there until they are swimming. Good Luck!
