How do fish make babies?

Answers:
Most fish are egg-layers, so the female lays her eggs in a nest and then the male comes and fertilizes them. There are several breeds of live-bearers, which include guppies, mollies, and platies, among others, who reproduce sexually and the female carries the young to term (usually around a month.) Are you trying to breed your fish? If you are, make sure you protect the eggs/fry from the adult fish, as they will eat them!
I think the female lays her eggs and then the male goes and fertilizes them.
lol u dont know??? offcourse they mate like humans, though not exactly desame. try buying a pair of guppies theyre probably one of the easiest to breed imo. youll see.
The female fish lays her eggs and puts them in a safe location. Then the male comes along to fertilize them, and they don't hatch until their fertilized. After they hatch, I think the mother and father stay with the babies for about a year, and then they babies are on their own.

I hope this helps you.
Why don't you check out the following sites for info:

The female lays the eggs, and the male spits them into the bubble nest (Bubble Nest Builders).

The female gives live birth to her babies (Livebearers).

The female lays the eggs, and the male fertilizes them (Egg-Scatterers).

The female lays the eggs and the male buries them (Egg-Buriers).
I think the last answer was the most on target I've seen and I'd just like to suppliment his information. In addition to the things he presented, there are also mouth brooders and you may find this one interesting. I have an Arowana and this fish, thier species in general I mean, have a very fancy mating situation. The male will pair off with a female, and engage in chasing and physical contact. This goes on for around a week or so, and this is checking to see thier compatibility. If they get along fine, shortly after thier courtship period, the female will then lay her eggs at the encouraging of the male. The male will immediately fertilize the eggs and he will store them in his mouth during the gestation period. The fry when hatched will still actually live out of the fathers mouth for an extended period of time actually until they are a certain age. Generally around 2-3 months from the ones I had seen
most fish lay eggs and the male fertilizes them, but in some casses the male fertilizes the eggs while still inside the female, then she lays them. livebearers on the other hand, give birth to live young and that about it. hope this helps.
