How do i get rid of the green and brown slime ish kind of stuff?

I had goldfish before but they died within 2 weeks because i really didn't know what i was doing well enough to keep them alive but now I've got 2 mollies and I've had them for about 2 months and theres this green and brown kinda slime goo on the glass is there a way to get rid of it with out totally emptying the tank and having to start it all over like i did when i was setting the tank up for the fish.

my usual cleaning so far has been siphoning every 2 weeks or so

It sounds like you have both algae and cynobacteria to deal with. Luckily, you can reduce the amount of both with the same treatments. First, increase your cleanings. Remove about 25% of the water while cleaning the gravel once a week. This will help remove the nutrients in the water that they need to live. Siphon out as much of the algae and cyno as possible when you change water as well.
Also, be sure you're not feeding the fish too much. Only what they can eat in 3-4 minutes 1-2 times a day.
Lastly, don't run the lights on the tank more than about 8-10 hours a day max and be sure the tank gets no direct sunlight.

Those steps will not completely remove all traces of the problem, but it will reduce it to a level you can live with. It will take a few weeks to see the effects probably and in the mean time use an algae scraper to keep the glass clean.

get a magnetic scrubber that goes on the tank. there are two parts one outside the glass that holds the other side there so that you can move it and the side that goes on the inside scubbs the algae (thats what that green stuff is called)

that way you can clean the tank without putting your hand on the tank.

Scrubbers are the anwers to your problems!!!I have a magnetic scrubber but a long handled one would be nice too.

that greenish goo is actually algae which grows in places which receive direct sunlight. When these algae grow, they consume oxygen present in the water thereby making the fish stressed out due to low oxygen levels. Over time this green stuff will contribute to being the most effective serial killer of your tank.

Im afraid that this time you'll have to clean out your tank thoroughly like you did when tou first got and then find a place in your house which does not receive direct sunlight. If you do this i dont think that green goo should grow again.
