How could I encourage my betta to build a bubble nest?

Answers:
First of all, did you buy this betta at a pet shop? If you did and are looking to mate him, chances are he is already too old.But some people have been lucky enough to get one young enough. First give him a good selection of different foods, bloodworms, flakes, brine shrimp, some veggies, this will help to get him ready, then you add the female. Watch thier behavier for a while if he and she is ready you will start to see him build a bubble nest. I he chases her all the time take her out they are not ready. I have 3 male bettas and 2 females. Your best bet is to buy from a known breeder,so that you can get one at a young age. Hope this helps.
keep the temp stable
feed him betta worms you can get at a pet store or even walmart
Make sure there's a female in there first. it may take a while for him to recognize her, so be patient. After a while, he'll start to build the bubble nest. Then he'll "persuade" the female to lay eggs so that he can spit them into the bubble nest. You should remove the female after this point. After the male has spit all the eggs into the nest, remove him and put him with the female. Then you can sit back and watch the fry hatch.

if you get something that they can anchor a nest to it might be enough enouragement. mine usually will work with artificial plants with big fabric leaves --- make sure the plant is big enough that the top leaves will sit on or a little above the top of the water.
1st add floating plant or object he can use to anchor it. Then house him between a male betta on one side and a female betta on the other. In a week he will have an awesome bubble nest.
He will do so when he his ready. If you put the female in first, he will kill her. The nest has to be built first.
Make sure there's a female he can see, he'll start to build the bubble nest. When the female changes her stripes and gets fat with eggs, put her in with the male. Then he'll "persuade" the female to lay the eggs so that he can spit them into the bubble nest. You should remove the female after this point, leave him there as he is the one that taked care of the babies. The female will eat them
