Maybe 3 gups,

1 (or maybe 2 as they don't make alot of waste) corys,

%26lt;5 snails and shrimp (they won't really make alot of waste either, I don't think...)

another way way to get the tank capacity (for tropical fish, not goldfish or marine) is times the length and width of your tanks and then divide the result by 12, thats how many fish you can put in inch wise, it's the surface area rule (you can have a tall 5 gal with very little surfave area, not alot of dissolved oxygen can get in).

but a 5g can can hold only about 2-4 small tropical fish, even if you keep it clean overcrowded tank fish can get stressed out.
The more the better. I could give a **** as long as I can grab 'em.
around 30 small fish
Typically the 1 inch per gallon rule would mean 4 guppies.. or a couple guppies, a snail and a shrimp. I wouldn't do danios or tetra because they like to school and 4 would be a bit too few for them to do that. Just figure 3-4 guppies, molly's, platy's, etc. You obviously don't want two irridescent sharks for example, as they will grow way too large. You also have to keep in mind that unless it's a betta or goldfish (too small a tank for goldfish)..you'll need a heater..

Hope this helps :)
To be quite honest, a five gallon tank is not suitable for much anything. I would only put two, maybe three Danios in one but nothing else. Guppies you could get two or three, but nothing else. Snails you can get one and end up having a million! You could get a shrimp in with two guppies/danios. I really would just put a Betta in a five gallon, nothing else. I do not recommend any of the fish you listed because they are meant to be kept in larger groups of 5+. Be careful, it is very easy to overcrowd such a small tank.
You can have 30 danios or guppies in a 5 gallon. You can also have a snail and 4 shrimp.
i didn't know that there was a rule. just fill up your tank as long as the fishes aren't cramming in it already.
if you got good air pump?
if you use ammo carb in your filters? which removes ammonia
from your water supply..keeping an eye of your ph balance..
the only thing of overcrowding any tank would be the water quality..keep that in check..and you should have no problems..
but hey..when you get sick.. in the same room..well .. close aint so good.. so anyways..good luck..
if you do weekly 1/3 water changes and dont overfeed plus have a good filter you can keep up to 15 fish like the ones you mentioned. maybe more. i manage to keep over 100 small fish and keep 0 ammonia and low nitrate ( in case you dont know about nitrate ect. that is very good conditions) in ten gallon tanks at the store i work at.
That all depends.. at least in my tank. I try to follow the 1 fish per gallon rule..
If you have a planted aquarium (real plants, not fake plants) you'd be better off.
Try to stay away from live-bearing fish if you have a small tank. No guppies or mollies. The last thing you'd need is multiplying fish in a small tank.
Get some cardinal tetras, they look great and stay rather small. A school of 6 would do nicely, along with a few shrimp to keep the bottom clean.

Oh, and make sure you cycle your tank for 2 weeks before adding any fish! Trust me!!!!
Here's a better setup for you:
1 male betta
6 zebra danios
1 plecostomus

This is a better for a small community setup for a 5-gallon tank.
You can put 5 danios, or 5 tetras, or 5 guppies, or 3 guppies and 2 shrimp, and the list goes on and on and on and on...
