How long can you keep 2.5 inch koi in a 29 gallomn tank?

how long can they stay in before it effects thier health there is two of them I was thinking about getting one of those small round pools that are about 2.5 feet diameter to put out side and then give them to a pet store when winter sets in.
and can buttery fly koi and regular koi interbreed because one of them has longer fins but not as long as a butterfly

You can probably keep them in the tank for a few months.

The small pool isn't a good idea. Koi can be jumpers, and the depth makes them too convenient for predators such as raccoons, heron, and any neighborhood cats.

All koi are the same species, the butterflies are just bred to have longer fins - so yes, they can (and do) interbreed with the standard koi.
well a 2.5 inch koi should be fine in a tank that large- no worries on them- about the breeding- if the fish want to comingle they will- theres not much stopping them- but they might not be able to- just let them do their thing- no pressure
About thirty years give or take!
I think they would last about six months in the 29 gallon before they get too big. A kiddie pool wouldn't be a good idea for long term housing unless it is rather deep. Koi need depth to grow strong and healthy. Bottom line is you should get a large(1000+ gallons) pond if you intend to keep the koi.
You will be able to keep them in there for a little while, maybe a year. They will however need more room if they survive. A full grown healthy koi will need a hundred gallons or more to thrive.
they can stay in the tank for only a month..but u will need a bigger tank later on
