How many 1-2 inch fish can fit comfortably in a 45 gallon tank?

Answers:
There is a very common and highly incorrect rule of 1" per gallon. First start by tossing that out the window. It really depends on what type of fish you plan on keeping. Even if they stay small, different species have different space requirements. If you would like to add the names of some of the fish you are considering we can make specific recommendations.

I wouldn't put more that 7 or 8 in that size of a tank. They will grow.
hmm
i think 5-15?
not sure
dont trust my answer unless some other people say so too
i hope i kind of helped..
well each fish 1-2 inch needs about 1/2 a galon to a galon so in a 45 gallon tank there would be about 23 to 28 fish.
I think 10 or 9
They'll grow
Common rules of thumb are 1 inch of fish per gallon, or an inch of fish per square inch of surface area (length*width of your tank)

Remember to add slowly and an understocked tank is better than an overstocked tank.
About 40 1-inch fish can fit in a 45 gallon tank, and 20 2-inch fish. If you have excellent filtration and excellent aeration, then you could add a little more fish in there.

Fish that don't grow bigger,25-30(like neons)
gold fish,:about 5
Aggressive that grow: 3-5
This is a very simple guide line.It depends a lot on what kind of of fish you put in.
It also depends on the height. High will accommodate less than low with that number of gallons.
45 Gallon = 45 1'' fish
30 2'' fish.

One inch of fish per gallon of water.
The rule of thumb is 1to 2 square inch of fish per gallon. That is a fish at full size and remember to take out the amount of gravel in your take to figures out how many gallons of actual water are in the tank.
You are allowed 1-1inch fish per gallon of tank you have, you do not count the tail in the inch either.
