How can I tell the sex of my Green Terror Cichlids?
Answers:
they're hard to sex when they're babies, but as they grow, the male will be significantly larger and have brighter colours than the female. the male will also have a hump on his forehead.
If you tap the fish with your finger and it headbutts your finger, it's a male. If you tap the fish and it retreats to the corner, it's probably a female or a wussy male.
You can tell all fish by their fins on the middle of the belly. If it has two its a female if it has one straight shooter its a male.Cichlids are aggressive by nature they will almost always go after your fingers and they do have small teeth. So as they get bigger I wouldn't be sticking my fingers too close LOL.I have one that is about 6 inches and the other is about 41/2 inches.they are defiantly named "terror" for a reason
